20% of our electricity from new renewables, and reduced costs through energy efficiency
Maine has enormous work to do to improve our energy independence and control energy costs, and we have tens of thousands workers in need of a good job.  Maine has made real progress on clean energy, but will still have vast untapped resources and economic opportunities.  We can tackle these challenges with a bold new initiative to put Mainers back to work and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger economy and a cleaner environment.

Maine wind energyMaine continues to face economic challenges.  Unemployment remains a big issue and the high cost of electricity affects the pocketbooks of homeowners and businesses throughout our state.  But there stands an opportunity in front of us that will create jobs, lower the cost of electricity and help to wean us off of polluting, financially unstable fossil fuels.  Maine Citizens for Clean Energy formed to put a question on the ballot that would achieve those important goals for the future prosperity of Maine.
